Eliminate BPA in our food sign now

In 2010, many brands including Eden Organic, H.J. Heinz, Native Forest, and General Mills received an “A” grade for working to eliminate the chemical bisphenol A (BPA) in food can linings, while others including Coca-Cola, Del Monte, Kraft and Wal-Mart, failed to do so and received “F” scores, according to a new study from Green Century Capital Management.
Safety assessments of BPA conclude that the potential human exposure to BPA from polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins is more than 400 times lower than the safe level of BPA set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
After several delays, the FDA announced on Friday 16th January 2009 that it has revised its assessment of BPA. The agency now acknowledges it has "some concern" about BPA, particularly with respect to developmental and reproductive effects in infants and children. This puts the FDA in agreement with the National Toxicology Program, which reviewed studies through to 2007. The Breast Cancer Research Association also posted another petition on their website, stating that BPA was found to be related to cases of breast cancer.
In America, approximately 8 billion pounds of BPA is produced and put in products such as baby bottles, plastic cups, and cans. This raises a big issue as a lot of people consume those products and put themselves at risk.
The goal of this petition is to show the companies that some people know what they put in their products and that they want a change. Sign here if you want to raise awareness about everyday products that are harmful to us
