Caroline Kennedy for the New York Senate, and maybe President 2016?

First, let us hope that Governor Paterson puts her in the New York Senate seat. Caroline Kennedy is a honest, and humble person, who yes has been below the radar, mostly from how her mother raised her. I can understand why Jackie Kennedy did that. I believe in my heart that Jackie Kennedy after the horrible ordeal of losing her husband and brother in law just wanted to protect and shelter her children. I believe Caroline Kennedy was inspired by Obama to jump into politics. Call me a romantic for the idea of another Kennedy in the senate... possibly the First Woman President?
The only living child of John F. Kennedy, and Jackie Kennedy. I understand there is anger with Clinton supporters since she supported Obama, but I also feel that she followed her heart, and I admire that. I myself would of voted for whoever the Democratic Candidate was. Caroline is not a snobby woman, although she is shy, but I think people read it wrong and mistake her shyness for being entitled or snobby. I believe that she would be a excellent Senator. Many people forget that the Kennedy's grew up with money. John F. Kennedy had a privileged life, and for the short time we had him he was a Great President. I have comfort in knowing that Caroline at least isn't doing this for money or for name recognition.
I honestly feel that during the Obama campaign it lit a passion in her for being in the Political ring. Doesn't mean that she never did things prior the election, it was just under the radar. Many people can argue that their candidate is more qualified then Caroline, but I'm not writing for them... mine is Caroline, and all I ask of New Yorkers is to give her a chance. If she is chosen for the Senate she will eventually have to run again in 2 years, and I would be happy to volunteer my time for her.

Kennedy has represented her family at the funeral services of former Presidents Ronald Reagan in 2004 and Gerald Ford in 2007, and at the funeral service of former First Lady Lady Bird Johnson in 2007. She also represented her family at the dedication of the William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park in Little Rock, Arkansas in November 2004.

From 2002 through 2004 Kennedy worked as director of the Office of Strategic Partnerships for the the New York City Department of Education. The three-day-a week job paid her a salary of $1 and had the goal of raising private money for the New York City public schools. In her capacity, she helped raise more than $65 million for the cityвs public schools. She currently serves as one of two vice chairs of the board of directors of The Fund for Public Schools, a public-private partnership founded in 2002 to attract private funding for public schools in New York City.

On Sunday, January 27, 2008, Kennedy announced in a New York Times op-ed piece entitled, "A President Like My Father," that she would endorse Barack Obama in the 2008 U.S. presidential election. Her concluding lines were: "I have never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me that my father inspired them. But for the first time, I believe I have found the man who could be that president в not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans." This was the first time she had endorsed a presidential candidate other than when she endorsed her uncle, Ted Kennedy, in 1980.

Federal Election Commission records show that Kennedy contributed $2300 to the Hillary Rodham Clinton presidential campaign committee on June 29, 2007. She had previously contributed a total of $5000 to Clinton's senatorial campaign in 2006. On September 18, 2007, she contributed $2300 to Barack Obama's presidential campaign committee.
Kennedy spoke during the first night of the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, on August 25, 2008, introducing her uncle, Senator Ted Kennedy.

On June 4, 2008, Obama named Caroline Kennedy, along with Jim Johnson and Eric Holder, to co-chair his Vice Presidential Search Committee. On August 19, 2008, filmmaker Michael Moore called on Caroline Kennedy to "Pull a Cheney" (as in Dick Cheney who headed President George W. Bush's vice presidential vetting committee in 2000), and name herself as Barack Obama's vice presidential running mate. On August 23, 2008, Obama announced that Senator Joe Biden of Delaware would be his running mate. Kennedy addressed the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, introducing a tribute film about her uncle, Senator Ted Kennedy.
