Elisa Vargas Library's Absurd Rules sign now

This petition has been created in order to show that the CNG's EVL contract with the school students turns out to be quite unfair.
There are two main purposes in which we are signing this petition:

1. CDP/MP3P should be allowed for usage during our visits to the EVL. As some people prefer reading with their musics on, or some try to have a quiet "peace" time in the EVL, it is not the EVL's job to interfere with our personal learning habits. If a complaint is made by a reader nearby, it would be taken into consideration by the music listener and would cooperate accordingly. It is not the librarian's job to confiscate music players, which could be a learning habit.

2. Backpacks in the cubbies. Everyone agrees with the backpacks in the cubbies. But shouldn't the EVL be responsible for any loss if they put on the rule?
Everyone fully understands the why backpacks should belong in the cubbies. However, it is absurd how the cubbies are downstairs, unmonitored, and the EVL would not be held responsible for any loss. It is true that the school doesn't force us to bring our valuables. However, if the school policy includes students paying for lost books, how are we supposed to trust that no books are stolen? If the EVL's rule states that our backpacks should stay in the cubbies, they should also be held responsible for any loss or damage to our belongings.

This is probably the rudest, most disrespectful petition I have ever read. I expected some kind of incomformity, but not to this level. To those of you who wrote rude things and signed your name, I will call you to my office tommorrow and deal with this a

I believe that everythng stated above is true. It is absurd to have your Ipod or any music listening device confiscated while you are reading and not disturbing anybody.

CNG is a liberal school. The MP3 rule is absurd, we would be very thankfull if you questioned the meaning behind the rules you establish, and not base the EVL's rules to those of public libraries around the world. Thank you
