Kenyans for the Referendum sign now
This petition is to seek to ask the court to strike out the case against the referendum on the Draft Constitution of Kenya slated for August 4th 2010.
That this courts case will injure the reform agenda by granting the prayers to stop the referendum vote on account of the issues raised by the court case petitioners;issues which can be resolved post referendum as stipulated in the amendment procedures.
That these are issues that are envisaged draft constitution such that are amendments are possible as shall be neccessary from time to time as provided for in the procedures of amending the envisaged constitution.
That the logistics required to undertake some of these prayers, like registering the diaspora is not practical at this time and a comprehensive, well organized process be undertaken post referendum. These prayers by the court petitioners can only be a stumbling block to reforms that Kenyans have fought for for a long time.
That given the financial implications of stopping this reform process, the court considers not granting the prayers of the court petitoners in the court case to neccessitate a post referendum process as envisaged by the draft constitution to deal with all issues raised in their petition.
