Minnesota twins stadium

Baseball has always been one of the United States' most beloved pastimes, and will probably always be. However, we are now allowing the Minnesota Twins, two-time world champions, to leave the state after the 2006 season, should they so choose. It is our duty as Minnesotans to help keep one of the cornerstones of our society, baseball, in our state. At this point in time, the Pohlad family has made it abundantly clear that the only thing that will keep the Twins in Minnesota is a new stadium. However, it seems that you (the Minnesota State Legislature) have not yet taken the time to come to some sort of compromise on a stadium deal for the Twins.

We want you to do whatever you can do to keep our team. We want to keep the team that has been entertaining millions of fans in our state for the last 25 years. We want to keep the team that has turned out some of the greatest players in baseball history; such as Tony Oliva, Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, Kent Hrbek, and Kirby Puckett. We want to keep the team that is turning out some of the best baseball players of our time; such as Brad Radke, Johan Santana, Lew Ford, and Torii Hunter. We want to keep the team that has won 7 Divisional Championships, 6 League Championships, and 3 World Championships in the franchises history. We want to keep the Minnesota Twins in Minnesota!

Please take into consideration the signatures attached to this petition this legislative session. You are our voice and, right now, we are asking you to speak. So please address the issue, consistently and impartially, this session for those of us that have elected you to do so. Lets keep this sport. Lets keep this team. Lets keep this tradition. I've been going to Twins games since I was a little kid. It would be a shame to see Baseball leave Minnesota. Like Hockey, it is a sport that everyone loves and enjoys to watch no mater what the team.
