Name the Richmond Post Office after Cassius M. Clay sign now

This is a petition to urge the US Congress in Washington, DC to name the Richmond, Kentucky Post Office on North Madison Avenue after Cassius M. Clay, a Madison County Historical figure and the Lion of White Hall. Clay, whom fought for emancipation of slaves, a Minister of Russia, acquainted with President Abraham Lincoln, served as a Captian in Richmond during the Civil War, and provided for a militia to be stationed at the White House to serve President Lincoln.

Cassius M. Clay, whom had a large number of children became political. His daughter, Laura Clay was the first woman to seek the Democratic Nomination for President of the United States. In the Administration of Louie B. Nunn, Governor of Kentucky, permitted state funds to refunish White Hall and created a Historic State Shrine in Clay's honor. White Hall is located at the Boonesborough/ Winchester Exit on Interstate 75.

Cassius Clay according to Senator Bunning was "a great statesman." The Madison County Fiscal Court and the City of Richmond have written letters of recommendation to Senator Bunning urging him to propose to Congress a bill to name the Richmond Post Office after a great Kentucky and Madison County historical figure. I hope that you can join me and urge Senator Jim Bunning to name the Richmond Post Office on Madison Avenue and it shall be called "Cassius M. Clay Postal Center."
