Pioneer JC Soccer Team sign now

This is a online petition to open up a soccer team at Pionner Junior College.

Firstly, Pioneer Junior College is the ONLY junior college out of the 17 JCs in Singapore that does not have a soccer team. It is only fair we also get to take up soccer as a cca, just like students in 16 other JCs.

Secondly, Soccer is a globally recognised sport. According to the latest Singapore Sports Council (SSC) survey conducted earlier this month, soccer is played by more than 130,434 people in Singapore and ranked 6th out of 20 sports. It is also the most watched sports in Singapore, leading on with a overwhelming 31.9\%. The survey also shows that 51,756 teens (15-19years)just like us in Singapore play this sport regularly. All the above shows how popular Soccer is in Singapore.

Thirdly, I believe that we have a place to play soccer. As some of you may see sometimes, Teck Whye Primary School pupils come to our school to use our track for training. I am sure as part of a big learning community, we are able to share our facilities and stay harmoniously. Therefore, we could use Teck Whye Secondary's or Teck Whye Primary's fields if they allow. This would not clash with the Rugby team's training sessions.

As the saying goes, we reap what we sow. I am sure by starting a soccer team in PJC, it will lay the foundation for many future generations to come. I sincerely hope that my future juniors will not only get to enjoy this beautiful game just like students in other JCs do, but also that they bring glory and prestige to this college.
