Reducing the length of DMV points in CA sign now

To the State of California,
The cost of car insurance in this great state is higher than most of the country. As our nation heads into another recession, I, along with the rest of the middle class am afraid of the bills and lack of funds ahead.
When a person is given a traffic citation, a point is placed on their DMV driving record and the cost of insurance climbs dramatically. That point on the DMV record is held for three years. That means if you are 17 and in high school and are still learning the rules of the road, you will pay for it until after you turn 20. It significantly raises your cost of living, which in California, is already soaring.
I am proposing to reduce the length of point system from three years to two years. I think us Californians deserve a break.
