Reform the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sign now

We the signatories demand the immediate resignation of Nasim Ashraf and the appointment of Imran Khan as the PCB chairman. We also demand wholesale overhaul of the PCB.

We strongly believe that the PCB should be an impartial body run by cricketers (or those with an actual understanding of the game) for the interests of Pakistan cricket both on a domestic and international level. It has become visibly apparent that the ad-hoc mess that is the PCB is incapable of running Pakistan cricket on a day to day basis let alone developing it into an international player.

There is incompetence and then there is the PCB. Rather than create a solid team the PCB have stumbled from opener to opener, captain to captain and one crisis to another. 11 captains in 7 years, chairmen being forced out by outside interference, coaches being dismissed, rehired, bungled inquiries into doping scandals ETC ETC. The current miserable failure of the Pakistan team in the 2007 World Cup bares testament to the gross incompetence displayed by the PCB. Even after having 4 years to prepare for the 2007 World Cup (since the last debacle) the PCB have systematically failed to create a cohesive team. As for the Domestic game the less said the better.

We would like to see wholesale reform of the PCB, starting with the dismissal of that Swiss Toni look-a-like and Musharraf Crony PCB Chairman Nasim Ashraf. This man is clearly more interested in making headlines than progress. His work so far at the PCB can only be paralleled by his career as a cricketer (I use the term cricketer and career very loosely). The man clearly has no credentials to warrant his appointment other than having Musharrafs number on speed dial.

We would also like to see an immediate cessation of state interference in particular from Gen Musharraf, this includes those incredibly lame comments he comes out with to motivate the team. Musharraf should use the appropriate medium to promote his liberal drivel and not Swiss Toni erm sorry I meant the PCB Chairman Ashraf or the PCB. The PCB is not an extension of the Musharraf dictatorship and should not be used as such. To be honest its surprising that he hasnt used Ashraf to promote his Book.

Oh yes and there is also the question of which bright spark decided to put in a glorified pinch hitter with a long list of failures to his name as an opener in the premier cricketing tournament. If Woolmer didnt influence his inclusion who did???? Or is that going to be one of the great mysteries like the JFK assassination and why Ramiz Raja has that ridiculous hairstyle.

Most importantly we demand to see a wholesale reform of the PCB starting with the appointment of Imran Khan as the PCB Chairman. We dont need yes men like Ashraf, we need the cornered Tiger.
