Reinstate charity clothes collection bins to council-owned recycling banks sign now

We the undersigned, condemn in the strongest possible terms Hertfordshire County Council's decision to remove charity recycling bins from council-owned recycling sites, in favour of a for-profit company. We call on the Council to reinstate the charity recycling bins when the contract is up for renewal next year. In the mean time we demand that the Council make it clear to residents that collections at these clothes recycling banks are no longer for charitable purposes, and to urgently find those charities affected by the decision adequate alternative sites.

Postcode AL3 4QL 100% of the funds made by clothes donated to charity should go to charities. If you refuse to reinstate the charity clothing sites you MUST make it clear on the bins that the clothes are sold for profit and only a small proportion of fun

Postcode AL1 5NA What a disgrace! Tories taking £815k directly from the charities this year alone. We have to stop this unfairness and support our local charity shops who do so much to help finance the causes that do so much good in our society.

Postcode AL1 1AJ a mean-spiritied and small-minded measure which will hurt disadvantaged people. Another contradiction to the Tories' "Big Society" policy.
