Tedy bruschi comeback player of the year award

To Whom It May Concern:

We, The Undersigned, hereby request that the National Football League's Comeback Player of the Year Award be renamed the Tedy Bruschi Comeback Player of the Year Award.

As you know, in February of 2005, Tedy Bruschi of the New England Patriots suffered a mild stroke. After several months of rehab, Tedy announced that he would be sitting out the entire 2005/2006 NFL season.

Then, on October 16, 2005, in a stunning turn of events, we learned that Tedy was medically cleared to play football again. He was practicing with the Patriots a few days later. On October 30, 2005, 8 months after suffering a mild stroke, Tedy Bruschi returned to action in a game against the Buffalo Bills. He had officially done the impossible.

Tedy didn't lose a step through all of this, and he resumed playing with the enthusiasm and energy that we are accustomed to seeing from him. Tedy plays with the heart of a champion, and the toughness of a warrior.

He went on to share the Comeback Player of the Year Award for 2005, deservedly so. To be playing football at the high level of the NFL, 8 months after suffering a stroke, is amazing.

We urge you to strongly consider renaming the National Football League's Comeback Player of the Year Award, the Tedy Bruschi Comeback Player of the Year Award. Never has there been a greater comeback.
