The Margaret A. Emelson Auditorium sign now

In the late 1990's you named the Uniontown High School Auditorium in honor of Margaret A. Emelson for her years of dedication to theater and more importantly her students. It has come to our attention that you are considering changing the name of the auditorium to the Bob Caldwell auditorium.

With no disrespect to Bob Caldwell, a change would be disrespectful to Mrs. Emelson and all of her time, selflessness, and dedication.

In 1966 Margaret A. Emelson began teaching in the Uniontown Area School District. Until 1998 she dedicated herself to her students. Upon her retirement, the Uniontown Area High School Auditorium was named in her honor for her commitment in her classroom and beyond to her students and the school district. To rename the auditorium for another teacher would trivialize the dedication and achievement of this remarkable teacher.

We ask that the Uniontown Area School District School Board keep the name The Margaret A. Emelson Auditorium.

Class 1996 DO NOT rename this auditorium. It would be a great insult to Margaret Emelson and her contributions to your educational facility (not to mention her amazing dedication and commitment that spurred the naming of it in the first place.)
